Brevard, NC to St Louis, MO

Driving from Brevard to St Louis was begun in full sun, changed to showers with construction delays and ended in full sun for my visit to the Memorial Arch. Those of you that have driven cross-country will sympathize with the frustrations that accompany the marvels of this type of trek, I'm sure. The Eisenhower Interstate system is a great way to make time over great distances, but the upkeep/updates are great for creating delays too. Thus when I planned this years trek, I set up limits--such as here in St Louis--for a few days respite from Interstate driving and spent 2 days here, enjoying this landmark to the Westward Expansion and Lewis and Clark Expedition. I got there early with a cool, sunny, clear day, after all the rain, to greet me. Share my pleasures--ENJOY
